STC Webinar: Essentials of RICE MACT Compliance

Sunday, January 6th, 2013

Does your facility have an emergency generator? Fire pump? Other engines? Are you wondering which EPA air quality regulations apply to your engines and how to comply? This free webinar will give you a practical overview of the EPA’s air pollution regulations that apply to stationary Reciprocating Internal Combustion Engines (RICE). We’ll provide a simple step-by-step approach to determine which requirements apply to you, along with a quick introduction of some tools that will help you to navigate the rules. The webinar will cover the requirements under the National Emissions Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAP) – also called the “RICE MACT” rule – and New Source Performance Standards (NSPS), along with clarification on how they overlap. We will also provide an update on the current status of the Boiler MACT rules.

Our presenter will be Jenni Cawein, STC Program Director. Jenni authors many of the Air Quality MACT Rulebooks in Environmental Auditing: Federal Compliance Guide, published by Specialty Technical Publishers of Vancouver, Canada, including sections on 40 CFR 63 Subpart ZZZZ – MACT Standards for Stationary Reciprocating Internal Combustion Engines, Subpart DDDDD – MACT Standards for Industrial, Commercial, and Institutional Boilers and Process Heaters at Major Sources of HAP Emissions, and Subpart JJJJJJ – MACT Standards for Industrial, Commercial, and Institutional Boilers at Area Sources of HAP Emissions. Jenni has presented at NAEM, AME/SME, BSR, and the Conference Board on topics such as EHS supply chain management, “Lean and Green”, integration of sustainability into business operations, and the business value of sustainability.
