STC Principal, Melanie Powers-Schanbacher, CPEA, has been appointed Co-Chair of the New Jersey Chapter of the Society of Women Environmental Professionals (NJSWEP). Melanie has been an active member of NJSWEP and a joint member of SWEP of Philadelphia for several years. She has served on the organization’s Sponsorship and Scholarship Committees, as the Co-Chair of the LSRPA-NJSWEP Annual Golf Networking and Scholarship Fundraiser committee, and most recently served on the BCONE/LSRPA/NJSWEP Battle of the Bands Fundraiser committee. Melanie was appointed Co-Chair during NJSWEP’s 2023 Annual Member Meeting and will serve a three-year term (2023 – 2026).

The New Jersey Chapter of the Society of Women Environmental Professionals (NJSWEP) is comprised of professionals from diverse backgrounds in the environmental industry. NJSWEP’s mission is to empower individuals identifying as women by promoting personal and professional development through networking opportunities, student outreach and information exchange in the areas of environmental business, law, policy, and science.
